Birgit Show, MS, BBS, LPC,Clinical Director, Owner
I grew up in Southern Germany close to the Bavarian Alps with part of my family hailing from Austria. As the youngest of three, I was always very curious and observant. My family owned three restaurants. I admired my parents’ hard work and entrepreneurship and wanted to follow in their hard-working footsteps. Throughout my childhood in Southern Germany I enjoyed skiing in the Alps, exploring the woods, mountaineering, and endless hours at horse barns. Nature gave me a sense of belonging, freedom, and adventure. Because of this, I have a passion for integrating the natural world into therapeutic work.
I earned my first degree in business and was selected from a group of 6000 applicants for a prestigious program with BMW. After 3 years working at BMW’s headquarters in Munich, I felt like something in my life was missing. In a leap of faith (and with everyone around me telling me I was crazy), I decided to leave BMW. I spent some time traveling and working with orphans in Rwanda, Africa. It was there that I decided I wanted to invest my life in people rather than products.
I went back to school to gain my Master’s Degree in a combined program of Psychology, Sociology, and Education. Since then, I have worked in the field of mental health in various settings for over 20 years. Finding my own path in life has come with many hurdles and sacrifices. I believe that even our darkest and most difficult times can come with hidden gifts and lessons that help us grow. I am passionate about joining my clients on their life journey. As a counselor I strive to create an emotional safe place where my clients find meaning and healing.

BRAD SHOW, MA, LPC, Owner
My inquisition into the depths of personality began a few years after I was released from active-duty service in the Marine Corps. I had deployed twice, serving in Southeast Asia performing disaster relief, then a combat deployment in Iraq. When I got out, I was hit with an avalanche of emotional material that I had not even begun to process—nor for the matter did I have any idea where it was coming from. It was simply a mess and I responded self-destructively until I realized that if I was to live any sort of life that I would consider productive and worthwhile, something had to change. As I began doing my own therapeutic work, I discovered that this was work that I loved. The inner workings of how we tick fascinated me. Thus commencing a new course, the next chapter in my life, leading me to this point with you in the here and now.
I value and practice a direct approach that is built on a foundation of seeking both conscious and unconscious influence. Broadening our capacity to tap in with the exchange of information between our mind, body, and spirit. This holistic frame of reference towards our tripartite communication system targets internal incongruity and conflict in more profound ways than simply the management of emotions and behavior. Transformation is the goal.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS
Over the last nine years, my sojourn has proceeded through work in wilderness therapy, a residential care facility, outpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and a private practice serving veterans with complex trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, both from Oregon State University. My specializations include trauma work, depth work, and faith centered approaches. I am a certified Brainspotting therapist and have observed this technique over and over to be a potent tool in the processing of trauma. Brainspotting is a brain-based form of therapy that is on the cutting edge. If you are intrigued, below are a few videos that provide brief introductions to key aspects of this modality.
